New tools for live stem cell detection
Our patented molecule, p-HTMI, is specific for stem-like cells in gliomas (glioma stem cells). Once taken up by these cells, p-HTMI can be visualized within minutes through its green fluorescence upon light excitation. p-HTMI represents a new generation of molecules, with the capacity to cross cell membranes without the need for additional reagents and illuminate when interacting with certain cellular structures.

p-HTMI enabled rapid and selective detection of live neural progenitor and glioblastoma stem-like cells within minutes. Compared with established markers, p-HTMI showed selective staining of glioma stem cells. These findings support p-HTMI as a promising tool for real-time detection of glioma stem and progenitor cells.
Glioma stem cells are associated with tumor initiation, treatment resistance and recurrence, making them an important target in glioblastoma.
